How we work.

With a pragmatic, flexible and lean approach, we listen, observe and explore the landscape so that we can gauge the cultural norms in a working environment. This helps to establish tailored ways of working across each delivery team, so that the right language and approach is used with stakeholders, ministers and other teams.

By working openly and transparently, we support client teams to gain the skills they need to work across digital service delivery, building the right skills and experience that will be retained in the organisation.

[you have] high standards, very professional, and an excellent attitude. You care, and you go the extra mile to deliver.
— Programme manager, Ministry of Justice.

User research.

User research is at the heart of any successful project. Uncovering behaviours, expectations, habits and frustrations, we seek to understand real needs upfront, and define user stories based on empirical evidence.

Our service designers, user researchers, interaction and content designers, are the greatest advocates of user-centred design.

Technology.

We have a wealth of experience designing, architecting and deploying a wide range of scalable and maintainable technologies, from cloud based services using Azure and AWS, machine learning and Big Data analytics, through to custom hardware and firmware developments. We do this by adopting modern engineering and coding practices (such as containerisation, CI/CD delivery processes and DevOps/DevSecOps), whilst implementing hardware agnostic, high-performance and secure technical solutions.

Security.

We work with the Cabinet Office as providers on securing official-sensitive data in the public cloud. As a value-added activity, we work on an industry level thought-leadership basis in cybersecurity, and we facilitate, guide and educate on cyber challenges; for example, working with client teams to advise on special security concerns and ethical hacking.

We are Cyber Essentials Plus accredited.

Our people.

Our HQ team have over eighty years of combined experience in public and private sector digital spaces, linking to thought leadership from key industry groups including ADS, Service Design Network, Tech UK and across Whitehall. We're committed to the concept of ‘the strategy is delivery’, with a focus on people, culture and transparency. The number 2 in our company name is a constant reminder of the need to deliver practical outcomes and improve every 2 weeks.

Agile.

We don’t believe in a purist approach to agile delivery; listening, observing and understanding the landscape is important to gauge the cultural norms in a working environment, and understand the right methodologies to use in the right circumstance. This helps to establish bespoke ways of working across each delivery team, so that the right language and approach is used with stakeholders, ministers and wider teams.

Empowered specialists.

We carefully integrate our specialists into existing teams, creating a culture of collaboration, unity and support. Our teams own the quality of the solution and strive towards design patterns and automated products. As experienced specialists, we frequently coach, mentor and upskill civil servants to build confidence in effective delivery.

DevOps, user research, digital transformation and some niche special projects, are a handful of the things that we do as a company. We are known for being pragmatic in our approach and working with teams, towards an outcome.

Our permanent HQ team are practitioners from across central and local Government, the Armed Forces, and corporate organisations, bringing with them a diverse wealth of knowledge and experiences to support our client teams. We also work with specialists across the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) competencies, from user research, DevOps and design, to data science, engineering and architecture. These specialists form the core of our teams, delivering with our clients and collaborating with partners and civil servants across organisations.

Something in your recruitment is finding very high quality people. Not sure how you are doing it, but you are doing a very good job.
