Our story.

Championing real people in digital transformation, we have built a company that believes in putting people at the heart of everything we do.

We have grown, diversified, had a baby or two, and embraced the rapid change that we have seen across the digital and technology sectors. In 2019, we were ranked in the Top 20 of The Sunday Times Tech Track 100, which recognises the UK’s fastest-growing technology companies. And this all comes down to how we work together as a team.

Our Company Values

We believe our values are what sets us apart from others; it is why our partners and associates love working with us. Digi2al is passionate and committed to promoting a culture founded on action, which is reflected in our values:

  • We apply ‘geekery’ to unlock problems. With obsessive enthusiasm for the problem space, we are curious and inquisitive, testing things in new ways. New technologies have opened up new possibilities. We look at old problems through new perspectives, and consider things that have not been thought of before.

  • We co-create to deliver value. How we deliver is fundamental. Digi2al delivers with partners, not to them. We act in your best interest, where ideas are shared and improved together, rather than kept to ourselves. Cultivating an open culture encourages open-mindedness, approaching new things with curiosity, embracing them, generating fresh ideas, and novel experiences.

  • We are nimble, adapting and changing as we learn. We understand the problem space with you, being flexible to understand your needs, whilst learning and changing our approach to deliver value as early as possible. Through this we gain confidence in making decisions, implementing changes and acting on user feedback quickly.

  • Everything we do is for people. We are all humans, and we look to learn and create opportunities for people from all walks of life. As a people business, we employ and work with a diverse range of individuals from different backgrounds, embracing the neurodiversity we have in our teams. We strive to create a great place to work by giving people the support and the space to get great work done, immersing themselves into exciting and tricky problems.

You have high standards, are very professional, and have an excellent attitude. You care, and you go the extra mile to deliver.
— Service owner, Ministry of Justice.

In partnership with our clients, we are solving difficult government, societal and environmental problems using people and technology to deliver meaningful change, helping people to learn, work and live better. We are committed to advancing:

  • Digital access and upskilling. We design and build solutions around the people who use them.

  • Trust and safety. We work with advanced technology, harnessing data and  safeguarding security, privacy and freedom.

  • Sustainable outcomes. We believe that technology will play a pivotal role in reducing carbon emissions and protecting the natural world.

Upskilling and coaching.

We promote sustainable digital transformation by bringing digital experts from a breadth of backgrounds into teams who can coach and upskill civil servants. Teams are stronger when we share more knowledge.

We have done this successfully at Acas, ESFA, Home Office and the Royal Navy. We love seeing the result of collaboration in permanent teams.

Hyper-collaboration.

We share early work-in-progress as soon as possible, to ensure services meet needs. Our user-centred design teams and developers work very closely with other specialists from projects we depend on, running workshops with representatives from multiple teams.

Service design at heart.

Similar problems exist across the public sector and defence teams, so we take a service design approach to joining the dots across teams. This way, we come to understand the intricacies of problem spaces.

We encourage our teams to share regularly in an open way, tapping into communities of practice across government and beyond.

Cloud experts.

Teams need highly secure and resilient services on cloud platforms, with the ability to continuously deploy application and service changes. We are experts in cloud technology, having delivered large scale serverless infrastructure for public-facing, critical digital services.

It is important to us to work as trusted advisers to our clients, allowing efficient and effective use of contemporary cloud and open source technologies, so they can achieve sound returns on their investment.

Co-creation is the way forward.

Teams do not need to work in silos. We bring policy, architecture, research and stakeholders together to co-create ideas and possibilities that can’t be successfully explored separately.

Working together across teams is what makes a solution more tailored for users.

Ensuring efficiency with standards.

Common user needs across teams often result in similar-but-different design treatments, which can waste effort ‘reinventing the wheel’, for example, uploading documents or entering addresses. We help organisations build and share living component libraries, design systems and style guides, streamlining design, build and content across organisations.
